This full-time faculty position is a nine-month position, requiring a presence on campus with the faculty member’s primary efforts focused on teaching and learning, academic excellence and student success. Primary responsibilities include designing and implementing learning strategies for students in the Medical Laboratory Technology program. The Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program at Davidson-Davie Community College is accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS). This position reports directly to the Dean, Health Sciences.

Successful candidates will possess:

Preferred Qualifications:

● Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science or relevant field

● Teaching experience

● ASCP‐BOC or ASCPi-BOC generalist certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist/Medical Technologist

● Minimum of two calendar years of full-time employment or the equivalent to demonstrate adequate knowledge and proficiency in their content areas including, but not limited to: Clinical Chemistry, Hematology/Hemostasis, Immunology, Immunohematology/Transfusion medicine; Microbiology, Urine and Body Fluids Analysis, and Laboratory Operations.

Preferred Qualifications:

● Community College teaching experience or related work experience.

● Experience using a Learning Management System, such as Moodle, to deliver course content

● Experience with simulation
