Job Summary

The Finance team in Information Technology Services (ITS) at the University of Michigan is seeking an IT Accounting Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will oversee the department's maintenance of accounting operations and data entry, ensuring the accuracy and verification of journal entries, accounting classifications, and account reconciliations. This role will involve preparing, consolidating, and analyzing various accounting reports while ensuring compliance with internal policies and industry standards. The analyst will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and updating a range of financial reports, covering expenses, inventories, budget balances, and other ad-hoc reporting needs. The position also encompasses billing, accounts receivable, and payable responsibilities. A firm understanding of current policies, industry standards, and best practices is essential for success in this role. The analyst may also lead or assist with special projects that require strategic thinking and alignment with organizational goals. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in financial analysis, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with different departments.


This position supports and reports directly to the Finance Accounting Manager.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT


Punctual, regular, and consistent attendance is required. Normal amount of sitting, average mobility to move around an office environment, able to conduct normal amounts of work at a computer. 
 

SCHEDULE


This position is currently hybrid, working in the office on Thursdays and the other four days remote. A remote work agreement is required and will be reviewed and updated at least once every 12 months.
