.Philosophy Department faculty are actively engaged researchers and award-winning educators who participate in departmental and campus-wide activities that promote innovation, especially in equity-minded pedagogy.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Teaching part-time college-level courses in Philosophy, most commonly Medical Ethics, Ethics, and Logic.
- Delivering instruction in multiple modalities, including on-campus, blended, and synchronous and asynchronous online formats.
- Drawing on knowledge of equity-minded pedagogy to engage our student body.
- Participation in student assessment and assessment of student learning outcomes at the course, department, and college general-education levels.
- Developing and revising courses and instructional materials.
- Commitment to providing quality instruction and services to a very diverse student population.
- Teaching may include daytime, evenings, or Saturdays.
Minimum Qualifications
- Master's degree with a major in philosophy or Master's degree in any discipline/field with a minimum of 18 graduate semester credits (27 graduate quarter credits) in philosophy.
Preferred Qualifications
- Community College Experience – two or more years of teaching experience in an urban setting, community college or combined community and technical college, and/or or similar environment.
- Technology and Pedagogy – Demonstrated teaching in multiple modalities, including fully online and blended models, and incorporation of multimedia.
- Demonstrated commitment to diversity and evidence of a strong and clear understanding and commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community colleges and their students, faculty, staff, administrators, and communities they serve.
- Service to the College – a demonstrated willingness to participate through committee work and/or student activities.
- Student-centered – demonstrated contributions to student growth and development through retention measures, student mentoring, and student activities.

Current and/or former employees must be in good standing at Minneapolis College for consideration.
Salary placement is determined in accordance with the 2023-2025 Master Agreement between the Minnesota State Board of Trustees and the Minnesota State College Faculty.
