Job Description
The University of Hartford, Barney School of Business seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Marketing to start in August 2025. Successful applicants are expected to teach courses in Marketing Strategy, Digital Marketing, and Marketing Analytics on-site and online in graduate and undergraduate programs.

Essential Job Duties
Candidates should be committed to excellence in teaching and scholarship, and contribute to the department, Barney School of Business, and the University, as well as to the profession and business / non-profit community. Faculty members normally teach three courses per semester at both the graduate and undergraduate levels, both on-ground and on-line. The Barney School offers both day and evening classes. Candidates will teach a range of courses such as Marketing Strategy, Marketing Analytics, and Consumer Behavior, and will have the opportunity to develop new courses. Candidates should demonstrate a capacity to engage diverse students in their teaching as well as an ability to recruit diverse students to the college. There are opportunities to teach in our innovative University Interdisciplinary Studies and Honors programs.

Given our AACSB accreditation and our dedication to scholarship, candidates are expected to publish in peer-reviewed journals and present at relevant academic and business conferences. Research opportunities at the greater Hartford urban area include the focus on marketing activities of local corporate and small businesses that are partnering with the University of Hartford. The Upper Albany Main Street incubator affiliated with Barney School of Business provides additional opportunities for research in Marketing.

Candidates are expected to participate in Department, College, and University level committees and to serve as faculty advisors to students.

Required Qualifications

Required qualifications:
Applicants should have a Ph.D. in Marketing or related area. ABD candidates with documentation of degree completion prior to September 2025 will be considered.

Preferred qualifications:
Candidates will be expected to demonstrate evidence of quality scholarly activities.
Candidate will be able to teach a wide array of marketing courses, with preference for marketing strategy, digital marketing, and marketing analytics.
Candidate will show evidence of incorporating appropriate technology in teaching.
Teaching experience with diverse populations.
