Adjunct faculty members provide instruction in assigned courses on a part-time, as needed basis. Courses may be seated, online, or hybrid.

Part-time faculty postings are a part of Catawba Valley Community College's efforts to expand our pool of adjunct instructors. Openings for these positions may or may not be available at this time, however, applications from qualified applicants will be kept on file and may be contacted at a later date.

 

Examples of Duties

 

Provide effective instruction to students online and/or in the classroom by preparing for each learning experience, providing supplemental materials to enhance textbooks and lessons, and using effective evaluation methods to measure student performance.

Ensure teaching and working environment (classroom, lab, shop) by maintaining equipment and supplies, ensuring overall cleanliness, functionality, and conformance to OSHA standards.

Maintain accurate records (such as attendance, grades, documentation for accreditation, etc.) and submit any corresponding reports according to departmental or college guidelines.

Develop and deliver curriculum for radiography courses.

Conduct lectures, discussions, and practical demonstrations to educate students on radiographic principles, techniques, and procedures.

Provide hands-on training in radiographic imaging equipment operation and maintenance.
Assess student performance through exams, projects, and clinical evaluations.

Provide constructive feedback and support to students to enhance their learning experience.

Stay updated with advancements in radiography technology and techniques.

Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications

 

Education requirements:

ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification.
Previous teaching experience preferred.


Non-transferable Courses: 
Bachelor’s degree in a related field required.

All coursework must be from a regionally accredited institution.


Knowledge of:

  • Principles and procedures of academic and institutional program development in relevant field
  • Current trends, research, developments, and resources in relevant field
  • Federal, state, and local laws, codes, and regulations as they relate to students and teaching

Ability to:

  • Create effective instruction for delivery both online and in the classroom
  • Communicate effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing
  • Work effectively in diverse teams, both within assigned department and cross-functionally across the college
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Interpret and apply college goals, policies, and procedures
  • Maintain any relevant equipment and supplies related to instruction
  • Work effectively with diverse student populations.

 

Supplemental Information

All adjunct positions are contingent upon enrollment needs and funding.

All employees paid by direct deposit.

Copies of all unofficial degree transcripts, including coursework completed and degree conferred, must be provided during the on-line application process. Official transcripts are required to be forwarded to the CVCC Human Resources Office upon hire.
