Assistant Professor in Electrical Engineering

The College of Engineering (CoE) at Abu Dhabi University is inviting applications for faculty appointments in Electrical Engineering for the Fall of the Academic Year 2024-2025. The College has rapidly expanded its programs, faculty, and student body, becoming the largest private engineering college in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, with over 2800 students. With a diverse range of undergraduate and postgraduate programs designed according to international standards, the College offers the country's largest and most varied selection of engineering programs. Our curriculum reflects the best practices of leading universities worldwide, with several programs already receiving or expecting ABET accreditation. We boast a faculty composed of experts selected from prestigious engineering schools across North America and Europe, and our state-of-the-art laboratory facilities provide an exceptional environment for student learning.  Appointments at the level of Assistant Professor are available and will be decided based on qualifications and relevant experience. Applicants specializing in the following areas are encouraged to apply:

  • Renewable Energy Systems Analysis, Design, and Integration
  • Power Electronics, Energy Conversion, and Advanced Control Techniques for Renewable Energy
  • Smart Grid Technologies and Energy Management Systems
  • Distributed Energy Resources, Microgrids, and Energy Storage Systems

Faculty Role:

Faculty members report to the Department Chair and Dean and actively contribute to the university's growth and development. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses, engaging in research activities, and participating in university service.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • An earned doctorate from an accredited institution in Electrical Engineering or a related field focusing on Electrical Engineering from a top 200 university in QS ranking.
  • A proven record of outstanding research achievements in quality and impact.
  • Previous experience in university teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels is desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent communication skills, a commitment to scholarship and diversity, an entrepreneurial spirit, and an understanding of the university's role in economic development.
  • Familiarity with modern teaching methodologies and visual communication techniques and the importance of equipping students with the diverse skills needed for success in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.
