General Summary

Specific Position Duties

• Conduct classroom instruction for dental assistant students based on provided curriculum and lesson plans.
• Demonstrate dental procedures and techniques in a clear and concise manner.
• Provide practical hands-on training in a simulated dental lab environment.
• Assist students in understanding and applying dental terminology, procedures, and protocols.
• Evaluate and assess student performance, providing constructive feedback for improvement.
• Ability to effectively teach and engage adult learners from various backgrounds.
• Ability to organize and manage classroom activities and student progress effectively.
• Collaborate with program coordinators to ensure course objectives are met and maintained.
• Maintain accurate attendance records, submit grades, and other program documentation in a timely manner.
• Stay current with developments and best practices in dental assisting through professional development opportunities.
• Work with the community, clinical partners, and industry to advance awareness of the need for dental professionals. 
• Availability to teach up to 19 hours per week as scheduled by the Continuing Education Department. 

Minimum Qualifications

• Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or Dental Hygienist with a valid license or certification.
• Minimum of two (2) years of working experience as a dental assistant or dental hygienist.

Preferred Qualifications

• Teaching experience in a classroom or clinical setting.
• Experience with curriculum development or instructional design.
• Familiarity with educational technology and learning management systems.
