High School Equivalency (GED) - Mathematics Adjunct Instructor

Aurora Downtown Campus
Part-time Adjunct Faculty

Teach Adult Basic and Adult Secondary Education classes in Mathematics. Classes are designed to prepare students to pass the Illinois High School Diploma Exam (GED). Instructors will provide educational activities within the scope of a developed curriculum that assist students in achieving their goals. The use of multiple teaching strategies to serve the diverse needs of adult learners is expected.

High School Equivalency(GED) classes meet face to face 2 days per week, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9am to 12pm or 6pm to 9pm. Fall classes begin August 19th, 2024.

Responsibilities:

Deliver instruction and conduct assigned classes

Prepare lessons and syllabus based on approved curriculum and syllabus template

Ensure student enrollment, attendance, and grades are submitted in a timely manner

Work with Transition Advisors to insure student persistence and transition

Complete New Teacher Orientation

Fulfill State mandated 12 hours of Adult Education Professional Development per fiscal year

 


Minimum Qualifications

 

Bachelor's degree in Education, Math, Engineering, or related field

Strong technology skills

Experience working with diverse non-traditional Adult Learners

Preferred Qualification:

Master's degree in Adult Education or related field

ICCB Adult Education Standards Certification training

Understanding of Canvas, DAISI, I-pathways
