Job Description

The Accounting Department (https://business.wvu.edu/academics/accounting-department/accounting ) in the John Chambers College of Business and Economics (CCB&E) at West Virginia University (WVU), in Morgantown, WV, invites applications for a part-time (.80), non-tenure track, benefits eligible position at the Lecturer rank beginning August 2024 to teach on-campus course offerings. Areas of need include undergraduate and graduate courses in accounting, auditing, accounting (data) analytics, and managerial.

West Virginia University (and The John Chambers College of Business and Economics) is especially interested in qualified candidates who can contribute, through their teaching and service, to the classroom experience.

Qualifications
 

The ideal candidate has earned a Ph.D. or is an “All-But-Dissertation” (ABD) PhD candidate in accounting, accounting information systems, management information systems or equivalent, and relevant professional certifications (e.g., Certified Public Accountant – CPA, CIA, CMA, CFE) and a minimum of 10 years of professional experience are required with teaching interests in in a wide array of accounting specialties such as basic accounting, intermediate accounting, managerial, auditing, data and accounting analysis. Preference will be given to candidates with teaching interests and experience in auditing and analytics.

A successful candidate will be a member of the accounting department and be expected to teach undergraduate or graduate courses.  In addition, this position will also be expected to provide service to the department, college, university, and academy such as local, state and/or national engagement.
