Job Summary

The University of Michigan's Electric Vehicle Center (EVC) unites researchers, educators, and industry to drive the innovation and talent development needed to lead the electric vehicle (EV) revolution in Michigan and beyond. Building on over a century of U-M leadership in transportation and mobility, the EVC is guided by four strategic pillars: Technology & Innovation, Education, Workforce Development, and Facilities Expansion. The EVC is seeking a Project Senior Manager to lead its Workforce Development initiatives. This role will oversee the implementation of programs and tools designed to meet the evolving workforce needs of the EV industry. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in managing innovative projects, training programs, and partnerships that support the center's strategic goals, with a primary focus on achieving key workforce development milestones for 2025.

This position offers the opportunity to shape the future of EV workforce readiness while collaborating with industry leaders, educational institutions, and government partners.

Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes.

Underfill Statement

This position may be filled at the Project Senior Manager classification or underfilled at the Project Intermediate classification, depending upon qualifications and experience.

Additional Information

This position will be primarily remote and requires regular travel across Michigan. Attendance of meetings in the office on the Ann Arbor campus will be required (on average, 2-4 days per month). 

This position is a term-limited position from February 1, 2025 - January 31, 2026, with the possibility of continued funding for additional years.
