As a Sales Manager for Trauma and Extremities, you will play a crucial role in achieving sales quotas, enhancing profitability, and meeting marketing objectives within the assigned region. Your expertise will be vital in attracting, developing, and managing a high-performing sales team to drive sales revenue and gross profit.
What will you need to be successful?
The foundation of your success relies on your technical expertise in the Trauma and Extremities portfolio. Your ability to build positive relationships with surgeons, Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), and hospital administration enhances access to customers to provide data-driven, trusted solutions. Develop an effective territory business plan to generate revenue and meet/exceed your quota.
Sales Leadership by developing and implementing strategic business plans, driving sales teams to exceed market share growth targets. Implement effective sales strategies and tactics, promoting products to existing and new customers through sales representatives.
Customer Relations by establishing rapport with key surgeons (Orthopaedic & Podiatric) within and outside the aligned district. Engage with administrative-level customers in hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers to foster positive relationships. Provide timely and meaningful customer reviews.
Team Management through recruiting, hiring, training, and managing a growth-oriented sales team (Trauma & Extremity Specialists). Maintain robust communication channels, conduct field rides, provide leadership, and support, and oversee performance management and development.
Logistics and Education by leading the Sales Admin and Logistics Team to effectively support, align, and utilize necessary product assets for driving sales and market share growth. Ensure communication and implementation of key Smith & Nephew Educational Programs for sales specialists, customers, and surgeons.
Collaborations and Negotiations through driving negotiations and collaborate with the HCS Team to enhance customer supply/admin relationships, trust, and commitments, contributing to profitable sales and market share growth.
What will you need?
- Education: Bachelor's degree in business/marketing or related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of successful sales experience within the Med Device industry and 5 years of proven success in sales management, including exceeding quotas. Proven success in achieving sales objectives in various distribution structures and product segments.
- Understanding of diverse sales strategies.
- Familiarity with financing options to accommodate client needs.
- Strong analytical capability for deal profitability and problem-solving.
- Adaptability and flexibility.
- Strong presentation skills and confidence.
Travel Requirements: Within designated sales territory with 2-4 overnights a month. Infrequent national travel for events and conferences.
All field sales professionals that are required to gain entry into healthcare facilities to perform the basic remit of their role, must successfully complete our credentialling process, which often includes COVID 19 vaccine management.

The anticipated base compensation range for this position is $80-100,000 USD annually and the compensation offered will depend on the candidate's qualifications. You may also be entitled to receive bonus and benefits, which may include medical, dental, and vision coverage, 401k, tuition reimbursement, medical leave programs, and a variety of wellness offerings.
