Essential Job Duties

The RED Client Support Specialist provides direct support to campus-wide users of the Research Enterprise Data (RED) system. RED modules in production handle Animal Care and Use protocols and Conflict of Interest disclosures. A complex suite of modules supporting Sponsored Programs began implementation in 2023, and a module for Human Subjects research will follow. Clients include researchers and research administrators campus-wide.

Client business needs are varied, including entering research protocols into RED, developing proposals for system-to-system submission to federal sponsors, capturing complex individual relationship information in a Conflict of Interest disclosure, locating financial information for a grant or contract, and creating/interpreting ad hoc reports.

The primary focus for this position will be supporting implementation of the Proposal Development module. The Specialist will participate in configuration, user acceptance testing and training for this module in order to support campus users when it goes into production in 2025. The Specialist will then guide campus users in developing, routing for internal approval, and submitting funding applications to sponsors, and submitting contracts, data use and other research agreements to Sponsored Programs for review and execution.
