NV5's Power Delivery Group is ranked 12th in the 2022 ENR Power sector and we continue to grow. We are seeking a talented Structural Engineer to join our Power Delivery Group to be based in our Phoenixville, PA and/or San Diego, CA offices. This role can eventually become remote/hybrid, with occasional office visits.
Our Structural Engineers I are goal-oriented who support our Power Delivery group. They contribute to teams in the delivery of our national service lines in multiple specialty areas: substation structural/physical design and overhead transmission line design, through planning, engineering, & design. They will contribute to the analysis and design of structural steel elements, foundations, anchoring, and underground package alignments within the substation. They will contribute to the design of transmission line steel lattice towers, steel poles, and foundations. They are responsive, proactive, solutions-oriented professional, working collaboratively within a team environment.
As our Structural Engineer I you will also:
- Through exposure to management of projects, learn how to meet client expectations for technical excellence, budget and schedule.
- Build skills to follow and be responsive to project budgets and schedules; learn to identify departures from the project's defined scope of work.
- Learn to coordinate all design work with other team disciplines.
- Increase proficiency in relevant design, modeling, and analysis software applications such as RISA-3D, FAD Tools, LPile, MathCAD, PLS software suite, and AutoCAD.
- Increase knowledge of local codes and industry standards.
What qualifications are we seeking?
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. (Preferred)
- EIT Certificate (Preferred).
- 1+ years of structural design engineering experience within substation, transmission, bridges, or buildings design experience.
- Experience with at least one of the following: RISA-3D, STAAD, MathCAD, and/or PLS software suite
The pay range for this California position is $59,000- $60,000 per year; however, base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
