Sr. Research Administration Analyst

Job Description

SENIOR RESEARCH ADMINISTRATION ANALYST, Office of the Vice President for Research-Research Administration Support Team, to join a team that serves as a resource to administrators at MIT and provides, in collaboration with business partners across the campus, education and support for systems, processes, policies, and best practices in research administration. Will provide research administration support and education to the MIT community, leveraging in depth knowledge of research administration policies and understanding of MIT’s research administration enterprise systems; serve as first point of contact, under the supervision of the team’s manager, for MIT’s research administrators regarding research administration policies and practices, sponsor requirements, and systems; collaborate on developing and revising curriculum for grants management systems and research administration topics; assist with identifying and developing best practices for the MIT community; attend professional research administrators meetings and keep abreast of changes in sponsor requirements and legislation; and serve in key roles on project teams, including project management collaboration, business analysis, process documentation, quality assurance and end user testing, training design, development, and delivery, and communications.

REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree in a related field; a minimum of five years of experience with enterprise systems or project management; broad experience with enterprise-wide systems, including SAP and Kuali Coeus; ability to learn complex systems and understand the interdependencies involved when updating or manipulating those systems; excellent organization skills for assisting with project planning and coordinating programs and logistics; and robust customer service skills; ability to work independently and on teams; manage multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal guidance; collaborate on developing curriculum and delivering training; and interact collegially with a variety of individuals. PREFERRED: experience working in sponsored research administration.

This is a hybrid, three-year term appointment with the possibility of extension.
