Position Summary/Purpose of Position:
The School of Public Policy at the University of Maryland, College Park seeks to appoint an Assistant Clinical Professor with expertise in quantitative methods, starting in Fall 2025. This appointment entails a 6 courses per academic year teaching load, with a primary focus on teaching
econometrics/statistics and research methods at the master’s and undergraduate levels. This is a 9-month per year position. The ability to teach micro, macro, or international economics at the undergraduate or Master’s level is a plus. The successful candidate will teach in the School’s undergraduate major and graduate program. They will mentor and help students gain practical experience in the policy world. They will also engage in service.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
Candidates must have a doctorate in economics, political science, public health, public policy, or a
related field.
Experience:
- Candidates must have higher-education teaching experience in a relevant field.
- Candidates should have a demonstrated interest in applying statistical methods to inform policy debates and improve outcomes.
Preferences:
Preferences:
- The ability to teach micro- and macroeconomics at the master’s level is a plus.
- Relevant professional and teaching experience commensurate with a faculty appointment at a highly-ranked public policy program is a plus.
- Scholarly knowledge and/or practical experience with the application of quantitative methods to analyze public policies across a range of substantive issues is strongly desired.
Additional Information:
The University of Maryland School of Public Policy is a top- ranked school of public policy and management with a faculty of scholars and distinguished practitioners. In addition to its signature MPP degree (primarily for pre-career students) with robust specializations, the School also offers a Masters of Public Management degree (primarily for mid-career students). The PhD program was recently rated amongst the top ten nationally by the National Research Council.
