Essential Job Duties

The Assistant Director of Employee Development and Success at the Poole College of Management is responsible for enhancing the professional growth and overall success of faculty and staff. In this role you will be involved in creating and implementing initiatives that foster a supportive and collaborative work environment, promoting professional development, and ensuring the well-being of all employees.

Key Responsibilities:

Program Development and Implementation:
  • Collaborate with the Associate Dean for Faculty and Research and HR Consultant to design, implement, and evaluate programs and initiatives aimed at enhancing the well-being and satisfaction of faculty and staff.
  • Identify areas of need and develop targeted interventions to address them effectively.
Event Planning and Coordination:
  • Organize and coordinate events and activities designed to promote community-building, recognition, and appreciation among faculty and staff.
  • Manage logistics, budgeting, and communication related to events and initiatives.
Resource Development and Distribution:
  • Develop and compile resources related to well-being, work-life balance, and professional development for distribution to faculty and staff.
  • Maintain a repository of relevant materials and information accessible to all members of the college.
Communication and Outreach:
  • Serve as a liaison between the human resources office and faculty/staff groups, committees, and departments.
  • Communicate regularly with faculty and staff to promote culture and well-being initiatives and gather feedback.
Data Collection and Analysis:
  • Collect and analyze data related to faculty and staff satisfaction, engagement, and well-being to inform decision-making and program evaluation.
  • Prepare reports and presentations summarizing findings and recommendations for college leadership.
Professional Development:
  • Stay informed about best practices, trends, and research in the fields of workplace culture, employee engagement, and well-being.
  • Seek out professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills relevant to the role.
  • Promote professional development resources for faculty and staff.

NOTE: This position will be customer-facing and will have limited ability for a hybrid schedule.

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree and one year of experience related to the area of assignment; or equivalent combination of training and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions.

Other Required Qualifications

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with faculty and staff.
  • Experience planning and executing events or programs, including logistical coordination and budget management.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office & Google Suite and familiarity with database management and survey tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field such as organizational psychology, human resources, or higher education administration preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a related role, preferably in a higher education or nonprofit environment.
  • Knowledge of workplace wellness strategies, employee engagement practices, and principles of organizational culture.
