Position Summary

As a Junior Engineer specializing in Foreign Military Sales (FMS) with LinQuest, and within the Department of Defense (DoD), specifically U.S. Space Force/Space Systems Command (SSC)/CGN (Narrowband SATCOM Acquisition Delta), you will play a vital role in facilitating the transfer of defense equipment, services, and training to international partners. Your responsibilities will primarily involve technical support, coordination, and liaison activities to ensure the successful execution of FMS programs. You will work within a dynamic team environment, interfacing with various stakeholders both within the DoD and with foreign governments and defense organizations.

Key Responsibilities:

Your essential job functions will include but may not be limited to:

  • Technical Assistance: You will provide technical expertise and support of defense systems, equipment, and services for potential FMS cases and collaborate with senior engineers and program managers
  • You will provide systems engineering support services in delivering Mobile User Objective System (MUOS) access in an FMS case to ensure compliance with technical specifications and requirements
  • Under the guidance of a senior engineer, you will provide systems engineering project management support and subject matter expertise in support of requirements development/review, CONOPS and Use Case development, and planning and support of verification and validation events
  • You will conduct engineering review and analysis of technical documentation
  • Documentation and Reporting: You will assist in the preparation and review of technical documentation, including specifications, drawings, and technical manuals, required for FMS cases
  • You will generate reports on technical assessments, progress, and challenges encountered during the execution of FMS programs
  • You will assist in the analysis of data supporting both internal and external data calls, including collating and summarizing data to analyze cost, schedule, performance for MUOS in general
  • Customer Liaison: You will serve as a point of contact for foreign customers, addressing their technical inquiries, providing clarification on technical aspects of proposed systems, and facilitating communication between the customer and internal stakeholders
  • Coordination: You will collaborate with external agencies, such as the TCNO, DISA, NIWC Pacific, and SSC/IA, to navigate technical requirements and resolve issues related to FMS cases
  • You will participate in program management/project meetings, conferences, and reviews, including preparing agendas, meeting minutes, and tracking action items, developing, preparing, and providing graphics support for executive level briefs and presentations
  • Training Support: You will assist in the development and delivery of technical training programs for foreign military personnel on the operation, maintenance, and support of MUOS access acquired through FMS
  • Quality Assurance: You will participate in quality assurance activities to ensure that delivered defense equipment and services meet the specified technical requirements and quality standards

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science degree preferably in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Network Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Math, or Physics
  • Minimum 7 years' of relevant work experience supporting specializing in Foreign Military Sales (FMS) within the Department of Defense (DoD), specifically U.S. Space Force/Space Systems Command (SSC)/CGN (Narrowband SATCOM Acquisition Delta)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess technical requirements and propose practical solutions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds
  • Proficiency in technical writing and documentation, with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as needed to support FMS programs and activities
  • Experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software and other engineering tools used in the design and analysis of defense systems
  • Active DoD Secret clearance is required with ability to obtain a TS Clearance.

    Compensation for California: Starting salary ranges from $134,000 to $160,000 depending on relevant experience and qualifications.
