Scope of Position

The Senior Project Developer is responsible for leading all aspects of the development of renewable energy projects from the greenfield stage through the achievement of Commercial Operation. The Senior Project Developer will serve as a project phase leader and will manage internal and external subject matter experts involved in land acquisition, community engagement, title, financial/budgeting, permitting, pricing and marketing as well as manage internal and external communication across functional areas. In addition to leading the development of specific projects the Senior Project Developer will also coordinate resources across a portfolio of projects and may have direct supervisory responsibilities.

Responsibilities

Leads the overall development process and coordinates resources for a portfolio of projects on behalf of EDF Renewables, including but not limited to:

    Land control and community outreach
  • Site design and energy assessment
  • Interconnection feasibility and service request processes
  • Environmental/permitting processes from early feasibility review through approval
  • Prelim engineering and support for construction and project financing.
  • Obtains internal approval at key project milestones
  • Creates, tracks, and maintains project budgets
  • Assesses potential acquisition targets
  • Effectively elevates issues and concerns to regional leadership as appropriate

Formal or informal management and supervision of junior team members

  • Direct supervisory responsibility for up to 2 direct reports
  • Provides guidance, oversight and direction on specific project tasks and goals
  • Provides guidance and direction related to career and professional development of direct reports

Cultivates and maintains internal and external relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate project success

  • Coordinates regional resources with Project Development Managers
  • Builds relationships to facilitate effect collaboration with the Origination and Power Marketing, Valuation and Transactions and Construction and Engineering teams
  • Builds relationships with key public officials in support of projects and industry
  • Supports offtake negotiations and relationship building with customers and potential customers
  • Other Duties as Assigned

Working Conditions :

Approximately 50% of the time is spent in the office environment, utilizing computers (frequent use of MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Project, MS Teams, etc.), telephones and general office equipment. Approximately Up to 50% of the time is spent in the field meeting with project stakeholders, leading permitting activities, leading pre-capitalized project implementation, capitalized project implementation/ development as well as managing the assessment and pursuit of new business opportunities.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's in Business, Economics, Environmental Studies, Energy or Engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience. Project management experience/certifications encouraged.
  • Demonstrated experience relevant to project development activities.
  • Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
  • Demonstrate ability to translate a broad project completion goal into a clear, flexible development plan
  • Demonstrate independently managed contract negotiations.
  • Demonstrate a thorough awareness of potential project development issues and ability to elevate issues to Directors / RVP in a timely, solutions-oriented way.
  • Able to successfully work and communicate with members of Sr. Management, peers, subordinates, and unaffiliated third parties.

This role's annual base salary range is between $102,500 and $171,000.
