The Manager, Performance and Governancewill contribute to the development, maintenance, measurement, and optimization of the RWE Clean Energy, LLC. (RWECE) EH&S Management System and its corresponding digital performance tools, community page(s), interfaces, etc.

This role will routinely involve project management, data analysis, management system auditing, and the creation & revision of EH&S and business continuity related programs, policies, procedures, forms, checklists, etc. in accordance with internal requirements, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.

The individual in this role must possess demonstrable knowledge, skills, experience, discernment and interpersonal abilities directly related to the North American energy industry, EH&S (environmental protection, health, safety & physical security) management and business management.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and continuously improves EH&S and business continuity-related management system documentation (programs, policies, procedures, process maps, forms, checklists, risk registers, etc.)
  • Routinely collaborates with operational sites, construction sites and back-office personnel across various departments to monitor and measure risks, identify organizational weaknesses, and capitalize on improvement opportunities using various methodologies and interdisciplinary skills
  • Performs data analysis using a variety of digital / web-based tools and applications
  • Develops and presents cost/benefit analyses, business cases, project charters, project plans, etc. relevant to innovation / continuous improvement project opportunities
  • Performs project manager responsibilities while implementing innovation / continuous improvement projects related to EH&S and business continuity
  • Performs lead auditor responsibilities while executing EH&S management system audits on RWECE locations
  • Benchmarks with industry partners and organizations to develop solutions from and for industry problems
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Senior Manager, Performance & Governance based on the requirements and needs of the business

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • Bachelors degree in Business Administration (Master's degree preferred); AND
  • Bachelors degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Quality Management, Engineering or related field of study

Experience:

  • Minimum 8 years' experience in the field of Business Management, Health & Safety, Quality Management, Engineering or a closely related field
  • Minimum 8 years' experience in the energy industry (North America)
  • Microsoft 365, Visio, Excel, Tableau, and PowerBI
  • Experience with multiple energy technologies (e.g., solar, wind, battery storage, high voltage transmission, oil and gas, nuclear, etc.) preferred
  • Project Management experience preferred

Job Skills & Competencies:

  • Demonstrated competency in the EH&S management discipline, particularly administrative law, consensus standards and 'IBR' standards
  • Demonstrated competency in business management
  • Demonstrated competency in data analysis and business analytics
  • Demonstrated competency in project management
  • Proficiency in common digital business applications and tools such as Microsoft 365, Word, Visio, Excel, Tableau, and PowerBI, etc.
  • Skills in preparing and presenting information to executive leadership, as well as internal and external customers, stakeholders, etc. across the organization
  • Mathematical / statistical knowledge and affinity to work with numbers / statistics regularly
  • Proven ability to empathize, build relationships, and effectively communicate with people from a diverse set of backgrounds
  • Independent problem-solving skills and ability to influence stakeholders in order to gain a desired result
  • Strong initiative and self-confidence to find solutions and solve problems independently
  • Reliable and systematic manner of working, customer orientation, resilience with being able to centrally manage multiple stakeholder expectations
  • Detail-oriented and consistently striving for high quality results
  • Responds well to direction, easy to challenge and develop, and coachable
  • Ability to work independently, collaboratively via technology, as well as in-person at various locations across the North American regions
  • Ability to travel up to 25-50% to meet business needs

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position is an office-based / remote role that involves some travel and visits to other RWECE office and field locations. The employee must be able to sit, walk, or stand for long durations of time.

Pay range: The annual base salary range for this position in California or New York is $109,000- $163,000. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. RWE considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's education & work experience, training & certifications, and key skills as well as market and business considerations at the time of the offer.
