Position Details
The Finance Department within the Sykes College of Business invites applications for a term position at the rank of Assistant Teaching Professor or Instructor starting August 2024 to teach primarily corporate finance at both the graduate and undergraduate level. Specifically, a successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Financial Management (FIN 310), Financial Markets, Institutions and Money (FIN 470), and/or Foundation of Finance (FIN 500).
 
The University of Tampa is a medium-sized, comprehensive, residentially-based private institution of 8,300 undergraduate and graduate students. The University is ideally situated on a beautiful 110-acre campus next to the Hillsborough River, adjacent to Tampa's dynamic central business district, which is a growing, vibrant, diverse metropolitan area. Responsibilities will include:
1. Teach three (3) courses (12 credit hours) per semester.
2. Create a syllabus for students each semester to include specific class requirements and learning objectives consistent with the University and Sykes College of Business mission statement.
3. Use online course management system to communicate course information and grades to students (Blackboard.com), including attending one (1) training session prior to first semester of teaching.
4. Demonstrate the use of Microsoft Excel in all classes and require students to complete at least one project using Excel.
5. Compute and submit final grades in accordance with syllabus.
6. Advise undergraduate students concerning their academic and professional endeavors.
7. Engage in professional development activities.
8. Provide service to the Finance Department, Sykes College of Business and The University of Tampa.
 
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have:
MS in Finance or MBA with at least 18 graduate credit hours in Finance. ABD's or Ph.D. will be given preference.
