About the Role

The Director of Corporate Engagement designs and executes corporate engagement and strategic partnerships that advance TAAF's mission to strengthen and support the AAPI workforce and AAPI community at large. They will lead our corporate engagement initiatives, oversee day-to-day management of our corporate partnerships, and design and lead TAAF's efforts around AAPI representation and unlocking resources for the AAPI community. The Director will manage a team of two direct reports. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience developing corporate partnerships and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) and Employee Resource Groups (ERG) programs. They will believe in working strategically with transparency and accountability, embrace a culture of learning, work respectfully with compassion, kindness and gratitude, and seek to be inclusive and collaborative in decision-making.


 

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with TAAF's corporate partners on their Giving Challenge commitments to advance TAAF's Resources and Representation pillar, including corporate Giving Challenge partners' work in DEI, focused on AAPI employees within their companies and their AAPI ERGs including:

    • Oversee and track AAPI Giving Challenge Commitments from corporate partners; manage annual tracking and reporting; help share out Giving Challenge stories progress and stories

    • Leverage relationships in the corporate and nonprofit sectors to connect leaders and build long-lasting partnerships between corporations and nonprofits

    • Engage Chief Diversity Officers and ERG leads to advance and provide spaces for discussion of best practices, new projects, or events focused on AAPIs in the corporate America

    • Convene leaders in the DEI and ERG spaces to foster further dialogue and community

  • Co-lead programs and special projects in the Resources & Representation pillar, with a focus on AAPI representation in the corporate sector

    • Create or assist in the creation of sustainable leadership development programming for ERGs and AAPI employees

    • Lead research projects regarding AAPI representation in corporate leadership

    • Engage existing network of corporate leaders to discuss pipelines for growth and development of AAPIs in corporate America

    • Oversee strategies to increase AAPI representation across sectors, including AAPI on Boards initiative

  • Design and drive a comprehensive and sustainable corporate sponsorship strategy across sectors (technology, finance, consumer goods, food and beverage, retail, hospitality, etc.)

    • Identify, cultivate and engage new corporate partners through a proactive identification, education and engagement strategy

    • Identify and cultivate new and existing corporate partners for event sponsorships and co-branded strategic partnerships

    • Prepare detailed and compelling proposals and reports; follow up on requests and report requirements related to grants, and manage other correspondence with corporate partners and prospects on a timely basis

    • Manage timelines and administration of sponsorship efforts, including tracking income and expense budgets; and creating and maintaining annual solicitation, acquisition, stewardship and reporting calendars

    • Ensure proper fulfillment of sponsorship deliverables and activation, complex agreements with major sponsors, contractual obligations, and proper crediting in all print and digital materials.

    • Manage day-to-day relationships with corporate partners; steward new and existing sponsors and partners

    • Propose and oversee any corporate projects related to the AAPI community

  • Leverage AAPI GIving Challenge partners to advance TAAF's portfolio strategy and core pillars of work: Anti-Hate, Inclusive Education, Narrative Change, and Resources and Representation

    • Engage partners to participate, invest, and co-create projects for portfolio strategy

    • Oversee the maintenance of all corporate records, as well as those funders associated with select special projects

    • Design initiatives and campaigns to drive funding to the AAPI community

  • Additional duties as assigned by the Chief Partnerships Officer


 

Job Requirements

Education/Experience

  • Undergraduate degree in a related field or the equivalent combination of years of education and relevant experience
  • Fifteen or more years of relevant work experience in corporate and/or development, preferably with a background in consulting, law, or DEI. Candidates without direct experience in partnerships or diversity but with a demonstrated interest and track record in advancing AAPI and diversity issues are welcomed to apply

  • Experience in building, coaching and leading teams of highly talented individual contributors

  • Experience in strategy development, relationship building, and stakeholder management

  • Experience in public speaking with ease
  • Highly effective verbal and written communication skills including exceptional presentation and facilitation skills
  • Excellent strategic and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to cultivate positive and productive relationships with donors
  • Ability to carry out duties respecting the sensitive and confidential nature of donor-related information and materials, and demonstrate mature judgment in handling donor concerns
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to attract, lead and motivate staff and stakeholders
  • Ability to quickly establish credibility and rapport
  • Ability to analyze data, understand trends and develop recommendations for action based on the analysis

Working Hours

  • Requires occasional weekend, off-hours, or evening work
  • Requires occasional travel for events and meetings

 Compensation and Benefits

  • TAAF provides competitive compensation and benefits including health insurance (including dental and vision) and a 401k retirement plan to all employees
  • Salary for this position is $175,000.00
