The Department of English at Lingnan University sets out to stimulate student awareness of the linguistic, literary and cultural aspects of English. It aims to foster students’ communicative, analytical and intercultural skills and prepare them for a wide range of careers. The department now invites applications for appointment as Senior Lecturer/Lecturer. The appointee will be required to teach courses in some of the following areas: Corpus Linguistics, Digital Linguistics, Research Approaches in Linguistics, and English for Specific Purposes.
General Requirements
Applicants should have relevant postgraduate qualifications and teaching experience in the above broad areas (not less than eight years in universities for Senior Lecturer). Applicants are required to provide evidence of quality teaching.
Appointment
The conditions of appointment will be competitive. The rank and remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, mandatory provident fund, gratuity, and incoming passage and baggage allowance for the eligible appointee. Appointment will be normally made on a contract basis for up to two years.
