Job Description Summary / TWC Summary
Under general supervision, the candidate assists in coordinating and implementing activities relative to achieving effective Faculty Senate/Assembly operations. Candidate must assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures and coordinate the daily administrative and business operations of the Faculty Senate/Assembly.
Essential Duties Summary
  • Coordinates the department’s daily administrative and business operations, including drafting correspondence and developing and implementing work processes for the department.
  • Coordinates and oversees the Office of Faculty Senate/Assembly work assignments.
  • Compiles complex program assessment and evaluation data at the departmental level and distributes information and materials to various constituencies, including faculty, administrators, staff, students, and other areas as directed.
  • Performs liaison activities with faculty, HR, and business offices.
  • Compiles and prepares reports, correspondence, and requisitions to facilitate departmental operations.
  • Assists faculty and senators in daily program needs and expectations when necessary.
  • Represents the Faculty Senate/Assembly at various University/community meetings and state and national conferences as directed.
  • Composes, reviews, and distributes correspondence, reports, forms, documents, and promotional materials, as appropriate that are sent to internal and external contacts.
  • Researches information, generates reports, gathers and analyzes various data. Verifies the accuracy of the information on standard University forms.
  • Organizes/facilitates/coordinates departmental and other meetings for general and special functions as directed. Prepares and distributes documentation to inform all constituencies of meetings, special events, and research opportunities as required.
  • Maintains files and information for students, faculty, and public inquiry. Responds to students, faculty, staff, and other internal/external constituencies.
  • Develops and distributes program and departmental materials, including brochures, information flyers, announcements, application packets, class schedules, and workload reports as directed.
  • May supervise and coordinate the activities of administrative support staff and students.
  • Takes minutes of the Faculty Senate/Assembly when deemed necessary and needed.
  • Audio/Video recording of all Faculty Senate/Assembly meetings.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Hiring Range Commensurate with experience.
Education
Bachelor’s degree (master’s degree or higher preferred).
Required Licensing/Certification
Valid Texas Driver’s License preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Microsoft Office Professional or similar applications.
