HR Generalist
Job Description
As part of a dedicated team of HR professionals that cares deeply for our employees and people served, the Human Resource Generalist will support the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) departments across six senior living centers in New England including hiring and interviewing staff, onboarding, benefits, leave of absence processing, conflict resolution, and enforcing company policies and practices.
Duties include:
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and deliver human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits administration, employee leaves; disputes and investigations; and talent management; recognition, and morale; occupational health and safety
- Under supervision of Sr. Director of HR for SC, attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
- Assist with anti-harassment training, and other HR trainings as needed.
- Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.
- In support of the Center and regional recruitment team, conducts background check, interprets results and determines eligibility for hire.
- Conducts employee reference checks using software and/or calls as requested within the Center.
- Participates in new hire orientation.
- Coordinates employee recognition and retention programs in conjunction with each Center.
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors.
- Working with HR team, ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
- Performs audits of employee records within the centers to maintain compliance.
- Prepares hire, term and tenure/turnover reports as needed.
