Job Description

Olivet Nazarene University is seeking a candidate for the position of full-time faculty member within the McGraw School of Business (SCOBUS). This position will serve the Bachelor of Science in Econ/Finance Degree, teaching degree specific courses and general education courses in the SCOBUS. Our preferred candidate will have training and expertise in a field of economics and/or finance. Competence, experience, and mission fit are top priorities.

The successful candidate will fill a vital role as a faculty member in the McGraw School of Business. Olivet Nazarene University is a private, Christian institution dedicated to providing outstanding education with a Christian purpose. ONU is seeking a dynamic and committed candidate to join an exciting faculty in fulfilling the university mission.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Teach departmental courses primarily in the area of economics.

2. Maintain a vibrant and interactive learning environment extending beyond the university classroom.
3. Monitor and coordinate educational interactions with professionals in the field to encourage possible internship experiences.
4. Continue to research and reflect on personal teaching effectiveness and build a wide variety of classroom experiences for all candidates.
5. Advise assigned candidates and prospective students.
6. Attend all McGraw School of Business, College of Professional Studies and University meetings.
7. Serve as a faculty sponsor for an economics professional club seeking intercollegiate competitions and professional certifications.
8. Develop and complete scholarship projects including publications, presentations, performances, exhibits, and workshops.
9. Coordinate program review and assessments for the Economics/Finance program.
10. Assist the Associate Dean of the School of Business as needed.

EDUCATION
A master’s degree in economics, finance, or business with experience in industry or education. Candidates with a terminal degree will be given preference.

5. Copies of college transcripts documenting all undergraduate and graduate degrees, and all relevant coursework (official transcripts required upon hire).
6. Three current letters of recommendation (written within the last two years) from colleagues who can testify to your teaching ability and experience.
