POSITION SUMMARY: The Human Resources Generalist is a detail-oriented, proactive, problem solving, experienced HR professional with strong tactical skills to manage the daily functions of the Human Resources (HR) department onboarding, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices. The HR Generalist reports to the Director of Human resources and provides personnel support to the HR department, which includes the following: support for benefits administration, personnel policies, and CCL compliance. The HR Generalist will have exceptional communications skills and possess the ability to engage others with diplomacy and confidentiality to build and maintain strong professional working relationships. This is an onsite position scheduled to work from our HQ location Monday – Friday, 8 hours per day
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Provides support for benefits administration, personnel policies, compensation, and regulatory compliance
- Plans, prioritizes, organizes, and manages HR administrative workflow and projects
- Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications and works closely with the recruiter to provide an excellent candidate experience
- Coordinates onboarding and new hire process ensuring accuracy and integrity of data
- Contributes to the development of new HR systems, processes, and operations to ensure greater efficiencies
- Effectively coordinates with Payroll on related matters
- Works closely with HR Director to plan and conduct new hire orientation
- Provides top-notch HR service delivery to managers and staff
- Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders on various special projects
- Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory trainings
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff
- Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations as needed.
- Processes HR vendor invoices for payment with accounting
- Maintains and audits Personnel Files, I-9 Binder, and HRIS. Develops and maintains employee files, Community Care Licensing (CCL), and other pertinent employee information. Manages and maintains hard copies and electronic copies.
- Processes documentation and prepares reports relating to personnel activities (i.e., staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, performance evaluations, compliance filings, etc.)
- Assists with constructive and timely performance evaluations process
- Manages COVID protocol process with employees to offer guidance on protocols
- Leads HR efforts in preparing and responding to internal and external audits
- Responds to HR inbox and HR ticketing system
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
- Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required
- At least three years of human resources generalist experience required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
