Position Details: Gustavus Adolphus College invites applications for a full-time (four courses), one-year position of Visiting Instructor in the Department of Business and Economics to begin September 1, 2024.

Department Information: The Business and Economics Department provides a diverse range of educational opportunities with five majors, including specialized tracks, and three minors, all designed to prepare students for successful careers. The department is also partnering with faculty across campus on a new sport management program. Emphasizing practical experience, social responsibility, and ethical decision-making, our dedicated faculty is committed to fostering the development of well-rounded individuals.

Things you will do:

  • Teach 4 course sections during the academic year. Typically, 2 in the Fall and 2 in the Spring. Two of the sections in Fall and/or Spring may be the same course. Primary teaching responsibilities may/will include Introduction to Business Management, Marketing, Organizational Behavior. We are open to additional upper level courses that are your specialty.
  • Help cultivate a welcoming community where everyone feels a sense of belonging. We strive to foster an environment where people can be themselves, build community, learn, and grow.

  • Improve your teaching by joining a teaching circle, participating in workshops, applying for an internal teaching development grant, and engaging in conversations about teaching with colleagues across campus.
  • Advance your scholarship by working with undergraduate research assistants, joining a writing retreat, applying for an internal grant, receiving travel funds to present at conferences, receiving help applying for external grants, and making use of our research facilities.
  • Develop professional skills by participating in faculty meetings and committees, attending faculty development days, and taking advantage of the College's membership to the National Center for Faculty Development and Diversity (NCFDD).

  • MBA with a Marketing or an Organizational Leadership Concentration
