Salary: Lecturer (Education): £46,497 - £57,141 per annum. Senior Lecturer (Education): £58,850 – £68,194 per annum.

The School of Medicine, Dentistry & Biomedical Sciences (MDBS) at Queen’s University Belfast, is currently seeking to appoint an exceptional candidate, with industry or health service experience as a Biomedical Scientist, to the post of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer (Education) in Biomedical Sciences.
The successful candidate will undertake significant teaching within the undergraduate and postgraduate courses of the School, with a focus on the IBMS accredited undergraduate BSc (Hons) Biomedical Science. The postholder will play a key role in assisting the planning and academic administration of placements, through liaison with employers both in the health service and external to the health service. They will maintain an appropriate portfolio of scholarly activity that will enhance the educational activities of the Centre and will contribute to Centre and School administration / outreach activities.

The successful candidate at Lecturer (Education) level must have, and your application should clearly demonstrate that you meet the following criteria:
- Honours degree in Biomedical Science or equivalent subject area
- Masters’ degree (or equivalent) in relevant subject
- Significant relevant experience working as a Biomedical Scientist in a clinical laboratory in industry OR working as an HCPC registered Biomedical Scientist in a clinical laboratory in the public or private health service
- Scholarly interests that are sustainable and which complement the strategies of the Centre
- Experience in training individuals in at least one Biomedical Science related clinical discipline
- Experience of teaching and assessing within the biomedical sciences at university undergraduate level OR supervising and assessing students on placement in the laboratory
- Evidence of ability to design appropriate teaching materials in respect of Biomedical Sciences and to plan and organise the delivery and assessment of taught courses
- Experience of quality assurance mechanisms
- Ability to contribute appropriately to the teaching load of the School
- Experience of contribution to a range of academic administrative/management tasks commensurate with stage of career
- Ability to contribute to a range of community/ outreach activities
