Substitute, Part-Time Hourly, Temporary Pool – Student Affairs

DESCRIPTION

This is a pool of applicants for any substitute, part-time hourly, temporary positions that may become available in the division of Student Affairs at Napa Valley College with the exception of Admissions & Records and Financial Aid positions which have their own pool.  Applications submitted to this temporary pool will be screened by the Office of Human Resources, Training & Development for minimum qualifications.  These temporary positions are at-will employment. 

Possible positions that may fall under this Student Affairs temporary pool are:

  • Welcome Center Specialist ($18.87)
  • Student Services Specialist ($19.74)

The job descriptions for each job title are:

  • Welcome Center Specialist - The primary objective of this position is to provide students with information and assistance within the Welcome Center.  Responsibilities may include assisting with registration, facilitating student support activities, assisting students in using reference materials and computer programs, and providing information about student support services and academic programs. Assist with the coordination of in-reach and outreach activities and will serve as coordinator of the student ambassador program.
  • Student Services Specialist - The primary objective of this position is assisting with providing services and program activities including outreach, orientation, college re-entry assistance, and financial aid guidance; and maintaining services in compliance with established program guidelines. Employees in this job classification perform the functions and related tasks indigenous to the work assignment and/or location in which they serve.
