Position Summary/Purpose of Position:

The Stamp Student Union Technology Services (Stamp IT) Graduate Assistant (GA), Projects Coordinator will work to provide routine administrative and clerical support to and the office’s operations. The Graduate Assistant will gain experience in a broad variety of specialized tasks and methods consistent with defined team-based work environment and continuous quality improvement objectives. GA will perform a variety of routine professional and analytical assignments involving the practical application of management principles and techniques to routine operational activities. Assist in entry level professional duties in hiring student staff and training. Ensure confidentiality of information. Depending on assigned area(s), GA will follow standard operating procedures in performing duties assigned.

The Graduate Assistant will Perform a full range of duties related to the day-to-day operations of the office. Suggest, recommend, and implement new or revised procedures, practices or changes to the office operation. Follow established guidelines to collect, compile, and organize data for various ongoing projects or plans. Prepare reports, recommendations, and other information resources for use by the team managers. Gather data for use in formulation of the office budgets and project proposals. Schedule and coordinate meetings and appointments; may attend meetings and provide minutes. Assists in promoting and marketing programs to department community; may interact with internal and external clients across campus community. Handles sensitive and confidential information with tact and discretion. May supervise student personnel and work as the lead on various IT projects. 

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:
  • Admission to and full time enrollment in a graduate degree program at UMD.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Advanced computer and word processing skills using MS Office applications including Adobe tools.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate several high-priority deadlines simultaneously.
  • Excellent organizational & prioritizing skills with the ability to multitask and work under the pressure of constant deadlines.
  • Superior attention to detail.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Able to demonstrate sense of initiative and ownership.
  • Aptitude to exercise foresight as well as good business judgment to anticipate and solve problems with minimal oversight.
  • Energetic, self-motivated and quick to learn with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work in a team or independently in a multi-disciplinary team environmen.t

  • Bachelor degree in IT related subject area.
  • supervisory experience.
  • Looking for candidate who can start working in 2024 summer session.

Physical Demands

•Properly store all equipment in a neat and tidy manner, report equipment of facility damage
•Be able to lift up to 50 lbs and navigate small spaces and storage rooms.
