Full-time position in the Programs Department of a fast-paced, stable nonprofit organization focusing on youth development and education. The Program Manager for the Agape College and Career Program plays a pivotal role in advancing our mission to empower K-12 graduates as they navigate beyond high school. This dynamic position involves overseeing three core components of the program—supporting well-being, navigating college life, and expanding career pathways.

The successful candidate will design and implement a comprehensive learning scope and sequence for each component, ensuring students acquire essential skills through engaging workshops and one-on-one mentoring. On the experiential side, the Program Manager will establish pathways for students to gain real-world experience through work-based learning. With a keen focus on coordination, the role involves building and maintaining partnerships with local businesses, educational institutions, and mental health organizations. This multifaceted position demands exceptional organizational skills, effective communication, and a passion for teaching and mentoring young individuals. The individual in this role will contribute significantly to the success of the Agape College and Career Program by fostering holistic support and creating pathways for students to thrive academically and professionally.


 

Roles and Responsibilities:


 

Program Oversight (Coordinating Quarterly Workshops):

  • Lead the planning and execution of quarterly workshops, ensuring alignment with program objectives.
  • Develop engaging and informative content for workshops, covering key aspects of supporting well-being, college navigation, and career readiness.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of workshops, adjusting for continuous improvement.

 

1 on 1 Coaching (Meeting Monthly with Each Young Adult):

  • Provide personalized coaching sessions to young adults in the program, meeting monthly to offer support and guidance.
  • Collaborate with individuals to set and track personal and academic goals, ensuring they stay on track with their post-secondary journey.
  • Address challenges and concerns, offering solutions and connecting young adults with appropriate resources.

 

Experiential learning and Job Readiness (Work-Based Learning):

  • Identify career interests in our Young Adult cohort.
  • Develop experiential pathways, including internships, apprenticeships, and job opportunities to enhance practical skill development.

 

Partnership Development (Cultivate Relationships with Universities, Businesses, and Community Partners):

  • Establish and cultivate relationships with universities, businesses, and community partners to enhance program offerings.
  • Collaborate with partners to create meaningful internship opportunities and secure support for meeting basic needs.
  • Negotiate and maintain agreements with partners, ensuring mutually beneficial relationships.

 

Outcome Tracking and Evaluation:

  • Define and track program objectives related to learning outcomes and experiential engagement.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of workshops, internships, and in-house training programs.
